Roadworks update.
For the paddlers driving to Cradock who usually go through Queenstown, we strongly advise taking this alternate route to Cradock. It is actually shorter, quicker and avoids long Stop-Go waits at the roadworks.
Directions from Kokstad – take the R56 to Matatiele, Mount Fletcher, Maclear, Ugie, Elliot, Dordrecht. From Dordrecht stay on the R56 to Molteno and Steynsburg. 10km outside Steynsburg, take the R390 to Hofmeyer and Cradock.
Distance from Kokstad to Dordrecht is 390kms.
Distance from Dordrecht to Cradock is 245kms.
The road is quiet, all tar and in good condition.
