To participate, please follow the steps below to ensure your entry is properly processed and approved under PaddleSport SA regulations.<\/p><p><b><i>Please take note of Steps 2 &amp; 3 &#8211; i<span style=\"font-family: 'Noto Sans'; font-size: 16px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; text-align: inherit;\">nternational paddlers may apply for a grading exemption due to the nature of the Fish River Marathon.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p><h4><b>Step 1: Register on PaddleSport SA and Purchase a Licence<\/b><\/h4><p>Before you can enter the race, you must create a profile on the PaddleSport SA system and purchase a temporary licence<\/p><p>This can be done at via the link<span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: inherit; color: #324a6d; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: inherit; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; color: #467886;\"><u><a style=\"text-decoration-line: none; background-color: transparent; color: #467ff7;\" href=\"https:\/\/paddler.paddlesportsa.com\/\">https:\/\/paddler.paddlesportsa.com\/<\/a><\/u><\/span><\/p><p><strong>REGISTER A PROFILE<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Access paddler portal via the link\u00a0<u style=\"font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 16px; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; color: #467886;\"><a style=\"color: #467ff7; text-decoration-line: none; transition-property: all; background-color: transparent;\" href=\"https:\/\/paddler.paddlesportsa.com\/\">https:\/\/paddler.paddlesportsa.com\/<\/a><\/u><\/li><li>Click on the button REGISTER and you will be taken to a second screen<\/li><li>Complete the required information (your password must show three green bars to be accepted)<\/li><li>Please do not be overly concerned about the box that refers to \u201crace\u201d. It is a requirement of our government reporting and is not a PSA requirement. You may tick whatever you deem appropriate.<\/li><li>Press Register<\/li><li>You have now registered a profile on the PSA online system.<\/li><li>You will receive a system generated email confirming that you have created a profile.<\/li><\/ul><div><div><strong>\u00a0PURCHASE A LICENCE<\/strong><\/div><ul><li>Go back to the same portal\u00a0<a style=\"text-decoration-line: none; background-color: transparent; color: #467ff7; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\" href=\"https:\/\/paddler.paddlesportsa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paddler.paddlesportsa.com<\/a><\/li><li>Click on the button LOGIN<\/li><li>Enter your passport number and your password created during the REGISTER process<\/li><li>In the top right corner of the screen is a MENU option.<\/li><li>Click on MENU and navigate to BUY\/RENEW LICENCE<\/li><li>Licence type: Choose SENIOR INTERNATIONAL FOREIGN<\/li><li>Union: Choose INTERNATIONAL<\/li><li>Club: Choose INTERNATIONAL<\/li><li>Indemnity: Tick the box to accept the declaration<\/li><li>Click on PAY NOW<\/li><li>You will be taken to a second screen where you can complete your credit card details and click on PAY NOW<\/li><li>There is a fee of R200 (around \u20ac10) to register on the system<\/li><li>You will then receive a system generated email confirming your licence purchase and that it has been sent to the International Administrator for activation (this usually takes approximately 24 hours).<\/li><li>Once that process is complete you will be able to enter the event and in the case of the Fish River Marathon, apply for a river grading.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><h4><b>Step 2: Apply for River Grading Exemption<\/b><\/h4><p>South African river races are graded for safety, and the Fish River requires an <b>A-grade<\/b> status. International paddlers may apply for a grading exemption based on their previous river experience.<\/p><p><b>To apply:<\/b><\/p><ul><li><strong>Download the<a href=\"https:\/\/fishmarathon.org.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Grade-Exemption-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Grade Exemption Application Form<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li>Print it, fill in all details requested and email it to: <b>herman.marais49@gmail.com<\/b><\/li><\/ul><h4><b>Step 3: Await Approval<\/b><\/h4><p>Once your form is reviewed and approved:<\/p><ul><li>Your <b>A-grade exemption<\/b> will be updated on your PaddleSport SA profile<\/li><li>Once approved, you will then be eligible to officially <b>enter the Fish River Canoe Marathon<\/b><\/li><\/ul><div><h4><b>Step 4: Enter an Event<\/b><\/h4><\/div><div><ul><li>All South African events are reflected on the system.<\/li><li>The entry process is now simple.<\/li><li>Go back to the same portal <a style=\"text-decoration-line: none; background-color: transparent; color: #467ff7; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\" href=\"https:\/\/paddler.paddlesportsa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paddler.paddlesportsa.com<\/a><\/li><li>Click on ENTER A RACE<\/li><li>Choose the race you wish to enter and complete the process\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/div><p>If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.
