PRE-RACE INFORMATION DAY 1<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. \n

    Le-Mans Start<\/span><\/strong>:<\/strong> Boat on the water\u2019s edge. Paddlers stand next to boats or behind line as per starter\u2019s orders.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Compulsory Portages:<\/strong> Toastrack, Brakriver Weir (left), Prospect Bridge (left), and Katkop Weir (right).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Double Trouble Chute: <\/b><\/span>In single file, \u00b1 15m spacing. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Keith\u2019s Flyover & Saltpan\u2019s Rapid:<\/b> R<\/span>ecommended for experienced paddlers only.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Toastrack:<\/b> L<\/span>ow bridge, <\/span>COMPULSORY PORTAGE. <\/b><\/span>Toastrack to be a compulsory portage for 2025 and for future events.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    Danger Areas<\/b><\/span>: Weirs, willows, bridges.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    Saltpan\u2019s Weir <\/b><\/span>: Take the slide at full speed one boat at a time. Use two white poles on river bank opposite the slide to line up properly. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  8. \n

    Saltpan\u2019s Rapid: <\/b><\/span>Shoot below marker on bridge then favour right down the rapid.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  9. \n

    The <\/span>FINISH<\/b><\/span> is approximately 1km downstream of <\/span>Knutsford Bridge<\/b><\/span>, look out for the banners. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  10. \n

    Withdrawals<\/b><\/span> must report to officials at Flyover, Prospect, Saltpan\u2019s Bridge or at Finish.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  11. \n

    Cut off time<\/b><\/span> for <\/span>Prospect Bridge<\/b><\/span> is 13h30.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  12. \n

    Cut off Time<\/b><\/span> for <\/span>Katkop<\/b><\/span> is 15h00.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  13. \n

    If you fall out in a rapid, particularly Keith\u2019s or Saltpan\u2019s, keep legs clear of the bottom to avoid foot entrapment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  14. \n

    The area downstream <\/span>of<\/span><\/span> any line of buoys<\/b><\/span> is NO MAN\u2019S LAND and will result in disqualification.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  15. \n

    Portages<\/b><\/span> are only allowed at official portages.<\/b><\/span> Any portage to shorten the course will lead to disqualification.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  16. \n

    RED FLAGS<\/b><\/span> denote a <\/span>NO-GO<\/b><\/span> area \u2013 this may be for an emergency. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  17. \n

    Please throw this note and all litter away in the black bag at the entrance to the batch camp.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    PRE-RACE INFORMATION DAY 2<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. \n

      Compulsory Portages:<\/b><\/span> Marlow Causeway (right bank)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      If you shoot Marlow Causeway<\/b><\/span> YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED<\/b><\/span> (the area behind the line of buoys is NO-MAN\u2019S LAND)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Danger Areas<\/b><\/span>: Baroda Chute, Gauging Weir, Marlow Causeway, Marlow Chute and Cradock Weir.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Barado Chute<\/b><\/span>: Shoot through the middle. The chute is wide enough for multiple boats to shoot. Optional portage on the right bank.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      Gauging Weir<\/b><\/span>: Shoot left, 1m from first pillar or in line with right side of river below the weir, very slowly, keep boat straight.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    6. \n

      Marlow Chute<\/b><\/span>: Portage left otherwise approach chute on right bank. <\/span>REMAIN IN QUEUE AND NO OVERTAKING.<\/b><\/u><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    7. \n

      Portages<\/b><\/span> are only allowed at official portages.<\/b><\/span> Any portage to shorten the course will lead to disqualification.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    8. \n

      Cradock Weir<\/b><\/span>: <\/span>ONLY FIRST<\/b><\/span> 50<\/b><\/span> boats may go over wherever they choose, <\/span>thereafter shoot on RIGHT<\/b><\/span> SIDE ONLY. On final approach to shoot Cradock Weir you must go in single file and adhere to lifesavers\u2019<\/b><\/span> instructions. <\/b><\/span>Queue on right-hand bank to shoot weir. Portage left bank. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    9. \n

      Any boat landing on another boat at Cradock Weir <\/span>WILL BE DISQUALIFIED<\/b><\/span>. If you jump the queue: 30 min penalty.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    10. \n

      RED FLAGS<\/b><\/span> denote a <\/span>NO-GO<\/b><\/span> area \u2013 this may be for an emergency.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    11. \n
